Hi, I’m Fern. Yes, like the plant! Massage therapy was not a direct route for me, but I’m glad I ended up here. After completing an Honours Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and human geography with a minor in Biology, I was uncertain of my career’s next steps. I worked for 2 years in an overnight data-entry position, which took a toll on my wellness and taught me the value of good workplace ergonomics, posture and mobility. I took a risk and applied for the massage therapy program at Humber College to pursue my long-standing passion for helping others with alternative medicine. Taking that risk was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I believe that massage therapy is effective in rehabilitating patient injuries and promoting body wellness. Since 2018, I have treated patients dealing with a variety of concerns, such as pregnancy/postpartum, chronic neck pain, TMJ disorder, sports injuries and general relaxation. My skill set includes myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and joint mobilizations. I have completed my Dr. Vodder’s manual lymph drainage Level 1 course with completion of Level 2 by the end of this year. By using these different techniques, I can provide effective therapeutic massage geared to each individual patient.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing high rec volleyball, travelling, singing karaoke, and spending time with friends and family. Fun fact about me: I once sang the national anthem at the Scotiabank Arena (back when it was still the Air Canada Centre) with the Riverdale Youth Singers at a Toronto Raptors game against the Chicago Bulls.

Working with physiotherapist Tom Bennet with a long-standing issue that wasn’t going away (distal biceps tendinopathy) and after just a few sessions already seeing huge results. He’s knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic – highly recommended. Also have been to Fern Ambre for RMT and love her, too!

I had my first ever physio sessions with Mackenzie and massage therapy with Fern and it was fantastic. After dealing with some pretty serious knee pain that kept me from running and exercising, it only took about 6 sessions before I was back in the running shoes. The service is great and the staff are very pleasant. Thanks team.
