COVID continues to be a concern in our community, and as a responsible healthcare business, we want to ensure the health of our patients, clinicians, and staff as our top priority. We also have to consider each client’s unique needs, as our core philosophy believes in providing personalized and individualized experiences.
Please take some time to read through the following and we will be happy to address any questions or concerns.
We look forward to seeing you real soon!
Your Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness team
June 11, 2022 updates:
- As per the most recent ministry update (June 2022), mandatory masking in physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy clinics such as ours, has been removed.
- Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness strongly encourages all clients to remain masked when social distancing is not possible. We will respect individual choices to remain unmasked.
- All practitioners and staff at Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness will remain masked when distancing is not possible.
- NOTE: For staff and clients accessing our clinics located inside medical facilities (Leaside & Etobicoke), we will have to adhere to the policies of the medical clinic. Please check with your practitioner or the client experience team when you arrive.
- Please remain patient and kind as we all go through these changes together. Constructive and professional feedback is always welcome through our general feedback form.
- Updates from the regulatory bodies can be found here
- We continue to limit waiting room seating with safeguards between chairs. If the waiting room appears to be full, feel free to wait outside.
- All payments and now taken via contactless billing to ensure a quick and safe exit after your treatment.
- If you have symptoms of concern or live with someone who has tested positive, please convert your session to a virtual/telehealth session to ensure continuity of care.
Our staff has also been reminded and reviewed to continue the following:
- Limit staff interaction in shared spaces.
- Limiting the number of people in the gym space. We must ensure there is 6ft distance between parties.
- Monitor symptoms regularly.
- Continue to follow our infection control policies as per our regulatory bodies.
VACCINATION
- The Chief Medical Officer of Health has issued a directive mandating hospitals, home, and community care service providers to have a COVID-19 vaccination policy. See the following link for more detailed information: COVID Vaccination Policies for High-Risk Settings
- Given this directive, Foundation has implemented an internal policy for all employees to adhere to this directive.
- As an essential business, we are not required to check vaccination status of clients wanting to use our services. For more information, read here.
- We are unable to refuse treatment based on vaccination status, however, as per existing policy, clients are passively and actively screened for COVID-19 (see “PROTECTION” section below).
SCHEDULING
- Our schedules are slightly modified to allow time to disinfect and sanitize commonly used equipment such as treatment tables and gym equipment.
- Please check and note your appointment time. Timeliness will allow us to adhere to our cleaning and safety protocols.
- You are always welcome to speak with one of our CERs or check your appointment time in our client portal.
PROTECTION
- Each healthcare provider is mandated by their respective regulatory bodies to be equipped with personal protective equipment when physical distancing in the treatment room is not possible.
- Staff members with symptoms are required to get tested and self-isolate until asymptomatic.
- Our regulatory bodies have listed guidelines here:
- If you require any clarifications, please email.
DISTANCING
- Physical distancing measures will be in place in shared areas, such as the hallways, gym, and reception area
- The waiting room space continues to be limited. Waiting room chairs are distanced by a physical barrier.
- Shall you have a physical reason you cannot stand outside, please enter and inform our CER team. We are sanitizing the waiting room chairs regularly.
CLEANING & SANITIZING
- All treatment room contact surfaces are disinfected immediately after each session.
- The reception desk, waiting room, and shared common areas are disinfected and logged every hour by our client experience staff.
- Hand sanitizing stations have been set up around the clinic for your convenience.
- We continue to follow all guidelines set out by Public Health Ontario and the respective health care colleges (Physiotherapy, Registered Massage Therapy, Chiropractic).
VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS & ONLINE BILLING
- In order to reach all our clients’ safety preferences, we still offer virtual appointments! Please go to our virtual clinic to consult with your physiotherapist and/or chiropractor
- Intake forms will now need to be completed on your profile. We understand this means you may need to re-enter information. However, this helps us ensure intakes are up to date and being done from a safe distance
- Payments will now be automatically billed online via credit card. Credit card information will be taken and saved through our secure EMR system.
MAXIMIZING EXPERIENCE
- We are the same team on the same mission. We continue to be the best-reviewed clinic in Toronto. We have been working diligently to ensure that while we minimize contact and harm, we continue to maximize the experience. Our mission is to deliver an exceptional, individualized, and personalized healthcare experience. Our vision is to grow this brand as a recognizable name in health care.
- Please never hesitate to speak with your clinician or any member of our team. You are also welcome to express concerns or provide feedback directly to our co-founders, Raj or Matt.
