Registered Physiotherapist, Concussion & Vestibular Physiotherapist
Hi, I’m Tom at the Corktown clinic! I’m a Registered Physiotherapist with 9 years of experience following completion of my Physiotherapy degree in the UK at King’s College London. While working in busy teaching hospitals in London, I specialized in musculoskeletal practice including managing spinal pain and joint pain; acute and chronic injuries; tendinopathy and orthopaedic surgical rehabilitation.
In 2022 I completed a Master of Science module in Strength & Conditioning which continues to inform my practice. Earlier in my career I also completed a Sports Massage ITEC Diploma and continue to employ manual techniques such as mobilizations with movement, ART (active release techniques) and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation).
I have a special interest in vestibular rehabilitation – a specialization managing dizziness and vertigo. I completed several courses including two-days at University College London (2017) and have years of experience treating patients with BPPV and vestibular hypofunction.
In public-sector and private practice, I have treated individuals of all abilities and ages: from sedentary office workers; to retired older adults; to semi-professional high-school athletes and performing artists.
I take a comprehensive approach to assessment with thorough history-taking, hands-on assessment, and functional movement screening techniques. I believe in a collaborative approach to rehabilitation, centered around your individual lifestyle, occupation and exercise activities, to tailor treatment planning and reach outcomes most important to you!
Outside of work I enjoy cycling, running, calisthenics and playing guitar/piano. I’ve recently moved to Toronto and love exploring the local landscape – from the islands and beaches to the ravines and forests! While working in Toronto this year, I often hear from my patients about their weekend trips out of the GTA – it always inspires me to explore further in Canada!
