Supporting Brain Health and Recovery at Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness
Brain injuries, whether from a sports mishap, a fall, or a more complex event, can affect how you think, move, and function day to day. At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, our team supports people recovering from concussions, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), vestibular conditions, and other neurological concerns using a coordinated, whole-body approach. From concussion baseline testing to individualized rehabilitation, our practitioners guide your recovery with care, education, and structured progress, so you’re never managing brain health challenges on your own.
Understanding Brain Injuries Beyond the Diagnosis
Brain injuries exist on a wide spectrum, from mild concussions to more involved traumatic brain injuries. These conditions can lead to symptoms such as dizziness, concentration difficulties, balance changes, and recurring headaches, which can interfere with work, physical activity, and daily routines. At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, our clinicians recognize that brain injuries affect more than one system in the body. That’s why care focuses not only on symptom management, but also on restoring confidence, movement quality, and day-to-day function.
Common Signs That May Follow a Brain Injury:
- Persistent headaches or migraine-like symptoms
- Memory challenges or difficulty focusing
- Feeling unsteady, lightheaded, or dizzy
- Fatigue, irritability, or reduced tolerance to activity
Our team works with you to address these concerns and support a safe, steady return to daily life.
Why Concussion Baseline Testing Matters
Whether you participate in sports or simply want a clearer picture of your brain health, concussion baseline testing provides valuable insight before an injury occurs. Baseline testing measures areas such as memory, balance, and reaction time. If a concussion happens, these results help guide more informed care decisions.
At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, baseline testing supports a more individualized recovery plan by giving your care team meaningful reference points from the start.

Individualized Concussion Rehabilitation That Adapts With You
Recovering from a concussion doesn’t always mean complete rest or avoiding activity for long periods. At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, concussion rehabilitation focuses on gradual, guided progress that reflects your symptoms, goals, and tolerance. Our program combines evidence-informed techniques with hands-on care to address both immediate concerns and longer-term recovery needs.
What May Be Included in Concussion Rehabilitation:
- Cognitive exercises to support memory, focus, and processing speed
- Manual therapy to address neck discomfort and movement restrictions
- Vestibular therapy to improve balance and reduce dizziness
Each treatment plan adapts as your recovery progresses, helping you return to daily activities with greater confidence.
Neurological Rehabilitation to Improve Movement and Control
When the brain has difficulty sending clear signals to the body, movement can feel awkward, delayed, or unfamiliar. Neurological rehabilitation focuses on retraining these communication pathways to improve control, coordination, and movement efficiency.
How Neurological Rehabilitation Supports Recovery:
- Improving reaction time, coordination, and fine motor control
- Supporting neuromuscular awareness for safer movement
- Reinforcing movement patterns that reduce lingering dysfunction
Through guided movement, hands-on care, and neuro-based exercises, our team helps your body respond more smoothly and confidently.
Vestibular Rehabilitation for Balance and Dizziness
The vestibular system plays a key role in balance and spatial awareness. When this system is affected by injury, people may experience dizziness, vertigo, or unsteadiness. Vestibular rehabilitation focuses on retraining the brain and inner ear to better tolerate movement and changes in position.
How Vestibular Therapy Supports Daily Function:
- Reduce dizziness through gaze-stabilization exercises
- Improve balance with targeted movement strategies
- Support confidence during daily tasks and activities
At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, vestibular care aims to help you feel steadier and more in control of movement.
A Collaborative Team Approach to Brain Injury Care
Brain injury recovery often involves multiple systems, which is why collaboration plays a central role in care at Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness. Our team includes physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, manual osteopaths, and other trained professionals who work together to address both physical and neurological needs.
Why an Integrated Team Model Supports Better Outcomes:
- Shared clinical insight across disciplines
- Coordinated care that addresses the full picture
- Active client involvement throughout recovery
Your care plan reflects teamwork, communication, and shared goals
Addressing the Whole Body During Brain Injury Recovery
Brain injuries rarely affect one area alone. Tension, posture changes, and movement compensations can develop over time. At Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness, care focuses on restoring function throughout the body to support lasting recovery.
How Whole-Body Care Supports Long-Term Recovery:
- Physiotherapy to improve strength, mobility, and movement patterns
- Lifestyle guidance to support recovery and manage daily stressors
- Education that helps you understand your body and participate actively in care
This approach supports both current recovery and long-term physical health.

Vestibular Therapy Spotlight
Feeling Dizzy?
Physiotherapy is a standard treatment for dizziness. Moreover, our therapists are trained to help alleviate any dizzying, lightheaded, or physically unstable symptoms you may be experiencing.
Our physiotherapists will perform a proper physical examination and also take a thorough medical history to ensure we provide a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan.
The primary goal of the assessment is to identify the specific cause of your dizziness and use a combination of manual therapy, balance exercise therapy, posture corrections, and education to help you resolve your condition.
The Most Common Treatments Will Focus On:
- Reducing vestibular symptoms through specific head and body movements and positions. These movements help restore the calcium deposits to alleviate your dizziness.
- Balance exercises and vestibular rehabilitation. Specific balance exercises and particular activities focus on decreasing nerve sensitivity and reducing the effects of dizziness.
- Postural education to optimize function.
Do you suspect you are experiencing dizziness? If so, contact us today. Our team will provide relief for all of your symptoms.

Our Patients Get Great Results
“I cannot recommend Tom Bennett highly enough. He is an exceptional physiotherapist—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I completed 14 sessions with him for vertigo and vestibular issues, along with acupuncture and cupping, and the improvement I experienced has been life-changing.
Tom is extremely attentive, punctual, and takes the time to truly listen. He carefully assesses symptoms and targets the exact areas contributing to pain and dizziness. His vestibular therapy approach is thorough and effective, and he always explains treatments clearly, which made me feel confident and supported throughout the process.”
