Who can benefit from Clinical Bicycle Fitting?
Clinical bicycle fitting benefits anyone who cycles, regardless of age, cycle type, or skill level. It is especially indicated for those who:
- Feel pain or discomfort during bike rides
- Want to achieve a goal, such as increased strength, endurance, distance, or cardio fitness
- Are just getting started with cycling, trying a new type of cycling, or returning to cycling after time off or injury
What does a Clinical Bike Fitting session look like?

The session is a TWO-HOUR consultation with a Registered Physiotherapist, who is experienced in and passionate about cycling. The two-hour cycling assessment is $350.
The program generally includes:
- A consultation aimed at identifying the cyclist’s needs, goals, and any areas of complaint.
- Assessment of overall flexibility, the strength of relevant muscle groups, and general mobility.
- Observation of the cyclist’s ride on a bike trainer in the clinic
- Adjustment of cleat position
- Adjustment of seat, including saddle height and fore/aft
- Adjustment of the handlebars
- A physiotherapy strategy for injury prevention based on your body mechanics and cycling ergonomics.
- Personalized exercises to address the needs and goals of the cyclist
The session is a basic bike fit (for ROAD bikes only). We use the SARIS FLUID2 Indoor Bike Trainer, compatible with most road bike wheel sizes from 700c-23 to 700c-29. The trainer is compatible with both quick release and thru-axle (thread count 1.0, 1.5, 1.75). For adjustments, we use a torque wrench which is safe for carbon fibre bikes.
If your bike isn’t compatible, and you have your own indoor trainer at home, we also offer homecare clinical bike fitting. A physiotherapist can conduct the road bike fitting in the comfort of your home. Please complete the intake form, and we’ll reach out with more information.
