Experienced Care, Backed by a Senior Team
At Foundation Physiotherapy, every patient benefits from a tiered clinical team model designed to ensure consistency, quality, and expert oversight.
Our team includes Associate Physiotherapists, Senior Physiotherapists, and Lead Clinicians who work collaboratively, not in isolation. This means that even when you are working directly with an Associate Physiotherapist, your care is supported by senior-level clinical experience and mentorship behind the scenes.
All treatment plans are guided by shared clinical standards, advanced assessment frameworks, and regular case collaboration. Our senior physiotherapists actively support associates through ongoing mentorship, clinical discussions, and treatment planning guidance, so no patient is ever “on their own” in their care.
The result:
You receive attentive, hands-on physiotherapy with the confidence that your care reflects the collective experience and expertise of our entire clinical team.

What Makes Our Physiotherapy Different?
✔️ Advanced Assessment & Clinical Reasoning
Our physiotherapists use a thorough evaluation process – analyzing movement, posture, strength, range of motion, balance, and functional limitations – to identify the root causes of your pain or dysfunction. This advanced clinical reasoning leads to more accurate diagnoses and highly targeted treatment plans.
✔️ Customized, Outcome-Based FUELed Treatment Plans
Instead of one-size-fits-all approaches, your plan is built around your unique condition, goals, and lifestyle. We combine clinical best practices with ongoing monitoring and adjustment, so your care evolves with your progress. Our FUEL method of treatment planning ensures your plan is clear, organized, and specific to you
✔️ Primary Practice Confidence
Physiotherapy at Foundation is structured to be your first contact for pain, discomfort or disability in musculoskeletal and movement conditions. Our expert physiotherapists can provide you a diagnosis, a roadmap, and professional guidance before pursuing unnecessary tests, referrals, or medications.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Foundation Physiotherapy different from other physiotherapy clinics in Toronto?
At Foundation Physiotherapy & Wellness, our physiotherapists function as primary care practitioners, not just symptom-treaters. Rather than offering a quick fix, your physical health consultant will use sophisticated diagnostic methods, including movement investigation and gait analysis, to identify the root cause of your pain or injury. From there, they’ll design a personalized, evidence-based treatment plan built around your specific goals, medical history, and lifestyle. Every physiotherapist at Foundation also completes a rigorous 24-week onboarding and training program led by senior clinicians with over 20 years of experience, so you can trust that you’re receiving the highest standard of care, whether you’re recovering from a workplace injury, managing a neurological condition, or returning to sport.
What conditions does Foundation Physiotherapy treat, and do I need a referral?
Foundation Physiotherapy treats a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and movement-related conditions, including post-surgical recovery, motor vehicle accident (MVA) injuries, WSIB workplace injuries, chronic pain, sports injuries, and neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, and stroke. In Ontario, you do not need a physician’s referral to see a physiotherapist. You can book directly. After your initial assessment, your Foundation physical health consultant will share their findings and treatment plan with your referring physician if applicable, keeping your entire care team aligned. Same-day appointments are available across our seven Toronto, Etobicoke, and Vaughan locations.
What should I expect during my first physiotherapy session at Foundation?
Your first session at Foundation Physiotherapy is a thorough, one-hour initial assessment. Your physical health consultant will review your symptoms, medical history, and health goals, then conduct a detailed movement investigation to diagnose the root cause of your discomfort. From there, they’ll walk you through a personalized FUELED treatment plan, outlining what to expect, how long recovery may take, and what you’ll need to do between sessions to stay on track. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and supportive footwear. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 to 60 minutes depending on your needs. The goal from day one is to give you movement confidence and a clear path forward, because at Foundation, your success is our success.
